Lesson #9: Create a Morning Routine
The beginning of the day dictates how the rest of your day will go in my opinion. It helps to create a morning routine that allows you to start the day with a clear mind and a free spirit. A routine will allow you to get in a pattern to be productive while allowing yourself to improve your perspective on the day that lies ahead of you.
However, when dealing with anxious or depressive feelings, it is very difficult to even get out of bed sometimes. I want to compare two of my morning routines from when I was not doing well and now, when I could not be happier.
Not Doing Well
Wake up - 15 minutes before my first class After class - return to my bed in a dark room
and be on my phone or try to go back to sleep
until next class
Doing Great
7:00 am - wake up and make bed (phone alarm across the room to make me get up - after turning alarm off not looking at phone for 30 min, shades never down for sunlight) 7:10 am - cold shower 7:30 am - breakfast 7:50 am - write out to do’s for day 8:10 am - meditate (refer to Be Inspire To: Meditate) 8:30 am - leave for 9 am class
By allowing myself more time to get myself organized for the day in a daily morning routine, it has reduced my stress by a lot. I have started my day happier and my happiness has lasted the whole day. I would truly highly recommend starting a daily morning routine as it can make the world of difference in dictating the rest of your day.
Hope all is well! Always feel free to reach out!
