Be Inspired To: Listen to Podcasts

Over the past few weeks, I have begun listening to podcasts. It has been a great way to learn more about the environment we live in and apply it to myself. Whether it’s listening to podcasts about sports, finance or mental health, I believe podcasts are a great way to relax, unwind and learn.

Podcasts have been a new outlet for me that I have thoroughly enjoyed. When I have a long drive it is easy to gravitate towards music that I am used to and I enjoy. Music is a comfortable outlet for a lot of people and listening to music you like allows the mind to escape for a while. Podcasts are different, the material is often always new and you are hearing new perspectives from different people all the time, there will never be a lack of information in the podcasting world because there is always something to say.

It is fun to start a podcast that you know nothing about. New and different information also allows different parts of the brain to fire.

It doesn’t always have to be a podcast centered around a specific piece of information like finance or motivation. Sometimes the best podcasts are just two people talking about life and what they have going on. Take the controversial yet highly entertaining Joe Rogan Experience for example, his most entertaining podcasts are often the ones where it is just him and a close friend catching up. It is like being a fly on the wall, just listening and observing information.

Doing mindless activities like cleaning the house is something that everyone is reluctant to do. You know what makes those mindless activities go by a little bit faster? Putting in some headphones and listening to a podcast. I just recently had to clean the entire cottage because my family was coming for the weekend and it is probably something I should have done earlier, but nonetheless it had to be done. I put on my favorite podcast and before I knew it I was almost done.

Overall, the main reason I would recommend podcasts is that it is a great change of scenery and also a great way to allow your mind to think. Bettering yourself starts with making changes in your daily routine and maybe listening to a quick 10 minute podcast in the morning before you go to work is just what you need in order to start off on the right foot.

But it is not for everyone, you need to find out what is best for you. Maybe it is reading a book, going for a walk, or even just laying out on the deck and catching some sun rays. Experiment a bit and always be trying to better yourself.
