'Be Inspired To' - Take time for yourself in the morning
I would like to start out with connecting this week's Be Inspired to the Inspire Others Newsletter posted two weeks ago. It has been a very busy time for the Inspire Other’s Team as well all have been working 50+ hour weeks in our respective jobs. Although we are planning to revive our mission when we get back to Amherst for the fall semester, we have decided to get a head start. We have begun this process while working using a little practice at the beginning of every day - taking 15 minutes to sit outside (weather permitting), with a coffee perhaps, just to think and be in the moment. Today, I will share my perspective of this practice in this piece.
Over the course of the last week or so, I have begun working on the presentation for Inspire Others on top of working an 8-5, and landscaping 2-3 times a week. I have balanced my schedule with starting off my day with a cup of coffee and either journaling and just thinking either outside or inside, however, I prefer outside by a landslide. I take 15 minutes out of my morning to gain perspective of my day to day life. I have learned by just these 15 minutes every day - that I am doing everything I can to be successful and everything I can to work hard as well as enjoying my summer with relaxation. Beginning my day with this practice absolutely sets the tone for the rest of my day. This prepares myself for bumps along the road during the day and to not be overwhelmed and stressed by it.
I compare this to a year ago, when I was at my absolute worst in life - when something was an obstacle for me added with my anxiety at the time, I would be lost. I would not know what to do and it was a serious problem. Finding these little practices that can help you when we do Be Inspired’s, can begin the process of digging yourself out of the worry hole and back to where you belong - happy, relaxed, and living your life the way you should.
